WHO WE ARE

EA Research Group (EARG) is a Ghanaian non-governmental, non-profit research and capacity-building organization dedicated to strengthening academic research, evidence generation, and knowledge-driven development in Northern Ghana and beyond.

Founded by experienced researchers and development practitioners, EARG was established to address a critical gap in Ghana’s development landscape: the limited structured pathways that enable talented final-year students and young graduates to transition into postgraduate education, academic careers, and professional research practice.

At its core, EARG is committed to building sustainable local research capacity while delivering high-quality, ethical, and policy-relevant research services. The organization operates through an integrated model that combines a structured Mentorship Fellowship Program with a professional Consultancy and Research Services Arm. Through the Fellowship Program, emerging scholars receive intensive training in research methods, data analysis, scientific writing, ethics, and academic professionalism, alongside hands-on experience working on real research projects under senior mentorship. This approach equips fellows to compete successfully for postgraduate admissions, research funding, and academic opportunities.

EARG’s Consultancy Arm provides evidence-based research and advisory services to non-governmental organizations, government agencies, academic institutions, development partners, and private sector actors. Revenue generated through consultancy work is reinvested to fund fellowships, postgraduate scholarships, and organizational growth, ensuring both financial sustainability and long-term social impact.

EARG’s mission aligns strongly with global, continental, and national development priorities. The organization contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 15 (Life on Land), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

At the continental level, EARG supports the African Union’s Agenda 2063 by promoting people-driven development and youth empowerment. Nationally, EARG aligns with Ghana’s education, research, and human capital development goals by strengthening postgraduate participation and generating evidence to inform policy and practice.

Headquartered in Tamale, EA Research Group works closely with universities, communities, and partners to advance ethical research, academic excellence, and sustainable development across Ghana and Africa.
